Heavy rain, Thunderstorms warning for Kerala, Karnataka & Goa over next 4 days

Pune, May 29 (PTI) Weather Update & Warning:

Day 1 (29th May): Heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places very likely over coastal Karnataka; Heavy rain at isolated places very likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, south interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep in the next 2-3 days.

Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds and rain very likely at isolated places over Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura, West Bengal & Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.

Heat wave conditions very likely to occur at many parts of west Rajasthan; some parts of east Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and at one or two pockets over Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi and of Vidarbha. Squally wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph very likely along and off West Bengal, Odisha, Goa, south Maharashtra coasts and Karnataka and Kerala coasts, over and around Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep area, eastcentral and northeast Bay of Bengal. Sea conditions are likely to be rough to very rough over these areas. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the Sea over these areas.

Day 2 (30th May): Heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places very likely over coastal Karnataka; Heavy rain at isolated places very likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Thunderstorm accompanied with squall very likely at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh. Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds very likely at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Heat wave conditions very likely to occur some parts of west Rajasthan and at one or two pockets over east Rajasthan and of Madhya Pradesh. Squally wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph very likely along and off West Bengal, Odisha, Goa, south Maharashtra coasts and Karnataka & Kerala coasts, over and around Lakshadweep area. Thunderstorm accompanied with squall very likely at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds very likely at isolated places over Odisha, Bihar and Uttarakhand.

Heat wave conditions very likely to occur at one or two pockets over west Rajasthan and of Madhya Pradesh. Day 4 (1st Jun.): Heavy rain at isolated places likely over Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds very likely at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.

Day 5 (2nd Jun.): Heavy rain at isolated places likely over Assam and Meghalaya and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds very likely at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh. Weather Outlook for the subsequent 2 days (3rd & 4th June 2018) :

Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands and northeastern states; scattered to fairly widespread over most parts of southern Peninsula; isolated to scattered over parts of central India and northern plains and western Himalayan region. Dry weather likely over remaining parts of the country.
